Appointment and Background

Yosef "Yossi" Meir Cohen has been appointed the new Director of Mossad, Israel's national intelligence agency. Cohen was born on September 10, 1961. The announcement was made in June 2021, and Cohen will replace Yossi Cohen, who has held the position since 2016.

Upcoming Meeting

Mossad chief David Barnea is expected to travel to Rome on Sunday to meet with CIA director William Burns. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the current situation in the Middle East, particularly in light of the recent escalation of violence between Israel and Hamas.
