In a game that went down to the wire, the Philadelphia 76ers emerged victorious over the San Antonio Spurs 133-126 in double overtime. The victory was sparked by a career-high 52 points from young star Tyrese Maxey.
Maxey, who has been averaging 19 points per game this season, exploded for a historic performance. He shot an efficient 16-of-28 from the field, including 6-of-13 from three-point range. He also added five rebounds, two assists, and three steals to his stat line.
Joel Embiid also had a dominant night, finishing with 26 points, 19 rebounds, and seven assists. He was a force on both ends of the court, showcasing his elite post moves and defensive prowess.
The Spurs, despite their losing record, put up a valiant fight. Dejounte Murray led the way with 30 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. Keldon Johnson added 26 points, while Jakob Poeltl contributed 23 points and 15 rebounds.
The game went back and forth throughout regulation, with neither team able to gain a significant lead. In overtime, Maxey took over, scoring 11 points in the extra period to help the 76ers secure the win.
With this victory, the 76ers improve to 44-35 on the season and remain in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race. The Spurs, on the other hand, fall to 19-59 and continue to struggle in the Western Conference.
