Modest Changes Reflect Acura's Conservative Approach
The 2025 Acura RDX is not getting a full redesign, but it is receiving a series of subtle updates. The exterior features a revised front grille, new headlights, and a updated rear fascia. The interior gets a new infotainment system and a redesigned center console. Under the hood, the RDX retains its 272-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
The changes to the RDX are relatively minor for several reasons. First, the RDX is still relatively new. It was first introduced in 2018 and received a significant update in 2021. Second, the RDX is Acura's best-selling model. Acura sold over 50,000 RDXs in 2023. Third, the RDX competes in a very competitive segment. The RDX competes with the BMW X3, the Mercedes-Benz GLC, and the Audi Q5. Acura's conservative approach with the RDX is likely an attempt to avoid alienating potential customers.
The 2025 Acura RDX is expected to arrive in dealerships later this year. Pricing has not yet been announced.
